Welcome
Welcome to the Fate guild website!

Fate is a raiding guild on The Tribunal server in Everquest.  We raid 3 nights a week, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 7:30pm to 12:30am EST.  While we welcome family members, our raid members must pass a full recruitment process and be competitive in current content encounters, including having reached the level cap and having an acceptable level of AA points. This is a NC-17 guild.  While we may engage in adult conversation and use adult language in public channels, we recognize that members may have young family members present.   While it is the responsibility of the member and not the guild to protect these incidental viewers, overly ribald or inappropriate conduct or discussions may be moderated.

Non-Raiding Status Membership

Fate offers an alternative means by which to become a part of this guild. Fate's primary goal is to be a progressive raiding guild that provides a fun and fair atmosphere to its members.   Fate recognizes that some people may wish to be a part of this guild but cannot or do not wish to raid consistently.  These people may be able to join Fate as NRS members.  An NRS member is a type of associate member who may be guilded with and enjoy the company of other people in the Fate but is not subject to some of the same privileges and responsibilities of a Full Raiding Member.  NRS membership is not meant to be a back door into Fate's raiding operations.  This membership is meant to allow more of the people we enjoy seeing in EQ to share our guild with us without being expected to maintain a raiding schedule.  In general all individuals considering this form of membership will be expected to honor the spirit of this casual membership status.  Listed in the General Guild Charter are some of the specifics of NRS membership.

Fate Update: Recruitment opening for a limited time!
Darshi, Feb 3, 10 11:28 PM.

Fate is a raiding guild, we raid 3 times a week from 7:30 until 12:30 EST. Offnights are as likely as not to see us doing hard mode raid targets or group UF flagging missions. Currently we are accepting a handful of recruits, with preference for DPS and utility classes. We distribute our loot via a pure DKP system, and our leadership is chosen via yearly vote.

If you're interested in pursuing your "fate" with us, send a tell or a PM to one of our leadership: Darshi, Winterjoy, Piyper, Doughnutman, Retired, Zion, Silder or Fatd.

Interested in joining an active guild but dont have time to raid regularly? We also offer a more casual option, NRS status.

Now for the progression update:

With all of SoD well and truly set to farm status before our christmas break, we continued to kick butt on unofficial nights. Currently we are casting our gaze of death upon Fippy, as well as clearing as much SoD as we can manage. With our prospects bright and our spirits high, we are bringing the fight to underfoot. Look back for more news soon!

December SoD Update
Doughnutman, Dec 3, 09 3:18 AM.

Wednesday December 2nd More Killing, More Pillaging, More Good Clean Mayhem!

Since our last news update Fate has wiped out another Seeds of Destruction target for the 1st time.  Roughly a week ago we stormed Bloody Kithicor and downed General Bahgresh in 1 shot.  Of course he coughed up a few decent prizes, but filling out our Rank 3 spell and tome aresonals was especially nice.  Only one SoD event remains unconquered.  The Sebilisian council deliberates within the Kaesora Library seemingly safe, but Fate is unstoppable.  Their days are numbered.

When Fate isn't out scouring Everquest for new targets it's returning to particularly rewarding sources of gear.  Discord Tower is officially on farm status.  This past Sunday we nearly cleared the 8 event raid zone in 1 night.  Places like Korafax, the Warrens, the Rathe Council Chambers and Kurn's Tower are especially well visited these days.  As our fluency with SoD events increases and our raiders soak up new items we are moving ever faster through each farm zone.  Simultaneous normal & hard mode raiding may have to find its way into the Fate schedule just to keep us occupied.  It is hard to believe but 3 offcial days may soon be too much raid time for SoD content.  Not to worry, Underfoot approaches and we turn our sights foward.  Fate plans to be at the forefront of Everquest progression in 2010.

If you have considered trying something new or are returning from an extended break maybe Fate is the right guild for you.  Our Full Member raiding force is currently near capacity, but we are still looking for exceptional canidates to join our ranks.  If you are interested in raiding but can't maintain a regular schedule or would just like a well populated guild to call home our NRS member program may fit your needs.  Fate welcomes players of all types and seeks to maintain an enjoyable atmosphere where its members can see the entirity of this game.  Our 3 day a week official raiding opperations are designed to be both exciting and rewarding.
Our offnight raiding activites give hard core raiders and casual members alike an additional chance to experience EQ raid content.  When we are not raiding we are out questing, earning AAs and generally having a good time.

And with that we leave you with a sample of the treasures we've recently aquired.

Toskirakk Theme Completed
Doughnutman, Nov 19, 09 3:52 AM.

Tuesday November 17th The Brothers Zek & Eriak's Downfall Defeated: 2 More Guild 1sts!

Having cleared Discord Tower the week before Fate turned its sights to another particularly difficult SoD encounter.  The Brothers Zek event proved to be a serrious challenge but well worth the effort.  With 1.5 raid days invested into learning the event Fate capitalized with a big win and another Fate guild 1st.  Currently Fate is the 2nd guild on our server to complete this Tier 3 raid encounter.  The subsequent Eriak's Downfall event was nothing less than easy loot compared to Brothers Zek.  To unwind Fate capped the night off with a brief stint in the Korscian Warrens instance kicking the crap out of the Crystalline Tyranont.

Discord Tower Cleared
Doughnutman, Nov 13, 09 1:38 PM.

Thursday November 12th Fate Completes Tower Events 6 & 7

Less than 3 months old, Fate has now completed all raid events in the Seeds of Destruction end zone.  For many of our members this was a personal first in addition to a guild first.  Many Fate raiders had never before conquered an EverQuest expansion while it was current content.  18 days ago many of our raiders had never even set foot into the Tower of Discord.  We have created ourselves from virtually nothing.   We have welcomed in players from Sol Invictus, The Elitests, Exodus, Vallis Aspectus, Disciples of the Night and other older guilds.  We have seen a lot of people return from retirement.  A little bit of guidance and some gear farming has given a lot of exceptional people the opportunity to explore and enjoy this game to the fullest

So what is next for Fate?  We have plans to complete all raid encounters in Seeds of Destruction.  Our guild has every intention of exploring and farm SoD to the fullest.  So, it is about time to turn up the heat on a few raid events that have been sitting on the back burner.  Preparing for Underfoot of course is a major guild focus.  We are eager to really tear into a brand new expansion soon after its release.  Day to day gear farming is definitely going to be a mainstay of our raid schedule.  Our raiders are looking forward to equipping all kinds of Tower gear.  Fate will continue to push itself even while in farm mode.  We can expect to be doing all the events we've completed so far with fewer and fewer people and increasing the number of instances we hit on any given night.  Maintaining a healthy menu of offnight events is also very important to us.  As a guild we will strive to offer exciting options for our full members and casual NRS members.   All in all Fate has a lot of goals to work towards.   And yes, we are looking for more players to join us in our endeavors.

It is not too late to apply to Fate and potentially rediscover your love of progressive raiding or casual play.  If you wish to be a casual player Fate may also be the guild for you.  Please, if you have any questions about Fate contact one of our officers or guild leaders: Winterjoy, Piyper, Conjem, Doughnutman, Darshi, Fatd and Retired.

Tuesday November 10th Discord Tower Events 4, 5 & 5.5 Completed

Fate raiders returned to the Citadel of the Worldslayer today to see what had been unclocked with our prior epic Stasis win.  Our first new task entailed dealing with the various forms of severe under-con zone trash, which is a feat unto itself.  With the trash dispacted the raid buffed, went through the tactics for event 4 and made all last minute preparations.  We all charged in expecting chaos and carnage and found ourselves wondering when the event was actually supposed to start.  After 10 minutes of barely breaking a sweat Scrying was completed and we were enjoying mamosas. Grats Fate on free loot!

Moving deeper into tower meant dealing with more exceptionally annoying tower trash.  Again we prep'ed for our newest encouter, event 5: Sacrifice, and again we conquered on our first attempt.  Event 5 did prove to be a real challenge but the Fate raid force adjusted, recovered and ultimatlely dominated the field.  A few more zone trash and a lot of bouncing off the walls and we were ready for the tower minis.  With minimal prep time and prior explanation we pulled off an arduous win but a win nonetheless.

So with events 4, 5 and 5.5 down each on our 1st attempt we rounded out our night with a run at Discord Tower event 6.  Alas we were not victorious, but with the final boss at 60% and a raid force in full form when the timer ran out we know victory lies on the horizon.  Thursday we shall return with the path cleared and tactics made anew.  The Fate raid machine has Events 6 and 7 slated for demolition.  Very soon Fate raiders will be miandering through Void G and maybe we should be seeing you there aswell.  Perhaps it is time to post you application with Fate and see what you always thought an EverQuest raiding guild was supposed to be.  In the mean time here are a few screen shots of our event 5 victory gathering and the nightly spoils.

Release the Jesters!
Doughnutman, Nov 10, 09 4:47 PM.

Sunday November 8th Fate Defeats Discord Tower Event 3!  Guild 1st

After two days of dieing and learning and more dieing Fate completed arguablly the toughest event in Discord Tower.  On this Sunday Fate spent the night clearing Korafax, Tower event 1, Tower event 2 and decided to finish with one attempt at Tower event 3: Stasis.  The prior days of practice and adjustments really showed as we plowed through the 8 tube mini nameds and focused on getting Firiona Vie & Lanys balanced and finally The Curator dead.  With power play healing from our guild clerics, shamans and druids, expert tanking from our wars and knights and unrelenting dps from our damage classes plus every raid trick we could muster we earned an incredible win and equally incredible loot.  With Stasis down for 5 days Fate will be sinking its teeth into the rest of Discord Tower and celebrating in Void G very soon.

Deeper Into Tower
Doughnutman, Oct 28, 09 6:34 AM.

Tuesday October 27th Discord Tower 2: Trophy Room, Another Win! Another Fate 1st!

This Tuesday Fate raiders showed up hungry for more discordling blood.  After hacking our way through zone trash on steroids Fate dove into event #2 in the Citadel of the Worldslayer.   Our raiders showed their ability to persevere and adapt throughout the night.  We tweaked our battle plan several times and developed a winning tactic.  With every trophy dead and the Curator running for cover we savoured another guild first.  This guild is rather pleased to be making a habit of conquering new SoD raid events in 1 raid evening.  We will definitely be putting this loot source on long-term farm status.  The only thing standing between the rest of of the Discordian Army elites and Fate's steam roller raid force is time.

Fate Breaks into Discord Tower
Doughnutman, Oct 26, 09 6:08 PM.

Sunday October 25th Discord Tower Event 1 Win!

Tonight Fate began its march through the current top Everquest raid zone, Citadel of the Worldslayer AKA the Tower of Discord.  This was Fate's 1st Discord Tower win which was especially sweet because this was also Fate's 1st Discord Tower raid.  To get the night rolling Fate whipped through the three Korafax raids in record time adding keys and gear to the guild pool.  With half of the raid night to go Fate stepped into the Citadel of the Worldslayer and confronted The Mindblight.  Feeling pretty good about being able to actually find where on the damn door we're supposed to click to zone in we talked out our battle plan and took up positions.

1st attempt: We engaged. We learned. We died gloriously. We recovered. We planned our next attack.

2nd attempt: We engaged.  We survived.  We saw the event play through completely and reset.  We recovered.  We knew what needed to be done.

3rd attempt We engaged.  We won!  We didn't just barely win.  We controlled the event and destroyed The Mindblight, and we profited.

This coming Tuesday Fate will be back in Tower hungry for more action.  Will Fate be clearing Discord Tower before Thanksgiving?  That does seem like a tall order to fill but looking at the guild track record even tough goals seem reachable.  No matter how far into Tower or any other EQ event Fate goes we'll be enjoying the trip.

So lets have a look at the tower rewards....

      2x and another

Fate would also like to extend a sincere congratulations to our server comrades The Elitists who also completed Discord Tower Event 1 tonight for their first time.  Well done!

Those Korafax items are pretty nice aswell

          and so on

Here's a few pictures of the post-Mindblight-ass-kicking.

Catching Up
Doughnutman, Oct 20, 09 9:01 AM.

Tuesday October 20th Fate Has Been Busy

In just the past 10 days Fate has accomplished another 3 guild firsts.  That is 3 new milestones in an already jam packed guild history.  On Thursday the 15th Fate crushed the Kurn's Tower raid, Claiming Felbane the Dragon Slayer.  There is no question we could be doing this event on hard mode or even with mini-raids.  I think that is pretty good for a group of raiders who had never seen the event prior to that Thursday.  On Sunday the 18th Fate completed the Fall of Toskirakk raid for the 1st time.  After only seeing this event once before and nearly completing it then our raiders were ready to work though this script with swiftness and ease.  It turns out that for some reason Rallos Zek has been holding onto a container from Citidel of Anguish.  Do all warriors have an unhealthy relationship with their epic 2.0s?  On Monday the 19th Fate held a closed offnight raid downing the Pallorax Hard, Queen Malarian Hard and Old Blackburrow Hard events.  Fate is used to doing Queen and Blackburrow on hard mode but Pallorax had never been tried at this level.  The event played through like clockwork and we got to see our first coeval essence drop.  There will be many more very soon.  These first time completions are in additon to everything else we have been working on these past 2 week.

In the last 10 days we have managed to gather another 12 Discord Tower keys.  Clearing Korafax is currently standard practice.  Fate has reached that key threshhold for Discord Tower.  Starting later today Fate will be an SoD Tower Raiding guild.  It has taken us 9 fast weeks to get to this point.  9 weeks from now we will be enjoying the new expansion.  The raid forcast for between now and then is heavy with lots of bad typing and kicking ass.  Official nights are going to be jam packed.  Raids in The Warrens, Toskiriakk, The Rathe Council Chambers, Korafax and The Tower of Discod will be keeping official dkp nights busy.  Additional offnight activity is also common place.

Those Classic MM raids have turned up a few times now on offnights.  Fate is all too happy to pick up 4 free Brews for its members every several days.  Too bad we can't pool those 160+ brews.  Old Man KcKenzie's raid gear is still looking pretty decent.  Naggy and Vox put up a valiant effort but their fate is always sealed.  Sometimes it seems just too easy.  Of course we don't have any problems claiming the stuff that drops.

In observance of the Canadian holiday we made Sunday the 11th an unoffical raid night.  Some of our Canadian co-patriots sat down to Thanksgiving meals with family and friends.  The rest of Fate made a killing in the world of EQ.

Frostcrypt and Ashengate are about due for another clearing.  New armour means there is plenty of new space for some raid augments.  Let's have a look at some of the rewards generated by all this bitchen EQ nonsense!

                 And the list goes on.

Fate turns two months old!
Conjem, Oct 20, 09 1:18 AM.

Fate is now two months old.  We have accomplished a lot.  50 members are now Tower keyed.  Korafax is on farm status.  Not just cleared but with enough time to hit other targets as well.

Guild firsts this week:
Kurn's Stronghold fell first try.
Fall of Toskirakk fell on the second attempt.
Pallorax the hard way on our first try.

Our first raid was 21 strong including alts.  Two months later we had to create a sitout channel.

To paraphrase a noteworthy person, 'I'd rather brush my teeth with a jackhammer than create a new guild on this server.'

The officers of Fate would like to thank our members, friends, and The Tribunal for helping us succeed despite daunting odds.

It has been a wonderful two months.
